Senior Pet Health

Senior Pet Health

Did you know most dogs and cats are considered to be senior patients at 7 years of age? The veterinarians at Paws of the Rockies Animal Hospital believe early detection and diagnosis are key to optimal wellness- this is exceptionally true when it comes to senior health care. In order to provide optimal care for your senior pets, we recommend that “wellness visits” become more frequent and that we see your pet at least twice a year (every 6 months) for senior care and bloodwork. The doctors at Paws of the Rockies Animal Hospital may recommend bloodwork which includes a complete blood count (CBC), complete body chemistries which focus on organ function, thyroid function, and urinalysis. Together, we can help your senior pet live a longer, healthier life.
